Custom Orthotics
Custom orthotics are individually designed medical devices made specifically for your feet. They can provide support, improve foot function, and address individual biomechanical needs.
At Soleus Clinic, custom orthotics begin with a professional foot assessment. We evaluate your foot structure, symptoms, walking mechanics, lifestyle, activities, and footwear to determine whether custom orthotics are appropriate for you and which type may best suit your needs.
Comprehensive Foot Assessment
Your appointment begins with a comprehensive assessment by one of our qualified foot care professionals.
We discuss your symptoms and concerns, examine your feet, and evaluate how they function while standing and moving.
Our approach is assessment-first. Custom orthotics are recommended when they are appropriate for your individual needs.
Gait & Biomechanical Assessment
Your walking pattern and foot mechanics are assessed to help identify factors that may be contributing to discomfort or affecting foot function.
The findings from your assessment help guide the design and specifications of your custom orthotics.
3D Foot Scan
A detailed 3D scan is taken to capture the individual shape and contours of your feet.
Your scan and relevant assessment information are sent to our orthotics laboratory, where your custom orthotics are manufactured specifically for you.
Custom Design
Different patients require different types of support.
Your orthotics are selected and designed according to factors such as your foot structure, assessment findings, activities, footwear, and individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Dispensing & Fitting
Once your custom orthotics are ready, you return to Soleus Clinic for a dispensing and fitting appointment.
We check the fit of your orthotics and how they sit in your footwear and provide instructions to help you gradually adapt to wearing them.
Follow-Up Care
We recommend a follow-up appointment within approximately one month after receiving your orthotics.
During your follow-up, we assess your comfort, fit, and experience with the orthotics and determine whether any adjustments may be appropriate.
Do I Need Custom Orthotics?
Not everyone needs custom orthotics.
Our foot care professionals assess each patient individually to determine whether custom orthotics may be appropriate based on their symptoms, foot mechanics, and individual needs.
